Jan. 8, 2012 - Happy New Year ! Our first Murphy Builders Meeting of the year was well attended - lots of old friends, and some new ones too... Ken again flew in and helped many by providing tips, tricks, and some interesting "show 'n tell" items that were passed around, including some very unusual clecos. Next Builders Meeting is Sunday, March 11th. See the Upcoming Events section ! Everybody welcome !! Nov. 13 - Another good Murphy Builders Meeting - small crowd, but lots of new people. There were a couple of new Rebel owners, and a couple looking to buy... Lots of useful information was exchanged, and lots of coffee & donuts were consumed ! :-) Looking forward to the next one on January 8th !! Nov. 5 - The Rebel Builders Calendar for 2012 is now ready ! You can download it from the Upcoming Events section. Oct. 31 - Factory Update - The Amphib float run is almost finished - just one more set to finish ! Looks like we're getting close to another Moose run ! Sept. 25 - We had another good Murphy Builders Meeting on Sunday, Sept. 18th, at Brampton RAA. Little smaller crowd than usual, but still had 3 fly-in Rebels - Ken, Tom, and Drew. Thanks guys, for showing off your aircraft.  Captain Ken again did the Rebel Forum, and we had TWO Cleco awards !   Mike Basic - Copper Cleco Mike Fuller - Silver Cleco Most progress since last meeting The prized Silver Cleco trophy for completing and flying his Rebel ! Aug. 14 - We had a great Murphy Builders Annual Get-Together Party at Oshkosh, Wl - we met up on Tuesday July 26th, after 4 PM, at the Moose, in Homebuilt Camping. Ted parked in Central HB Camping, across from the Forums, next to Hap - we had 3 Mooses, 2 Rebels, & an Elite, and over 30 builders - a new record ! Ted was kept busy cooking & serving everyone, as I had a bit of a headache - Thanks again, Ted for all your help ! We added Steak Burgers as a treat this year, to go with the Bratwurst, nachos, cheezies, nuts, beer & wine... Lots for everyone ! I think everyone had a good time, exchanging tips 'n tricks, and connecting with fellow builders - nice to put a face to the names !

Many stopped by for a visit, and refreshment - (Ted had a 'contribution jar') .. June 26 - Time to start planning for the great (only 1 month away !) Murphy Builders Annual Get-Together Party at Oshkosh, Wl Tuesday July 26th, after 4 PM, at the Moose in Homebuilt Camping ! (Check Upcoming Events & the Rebel Builders Email List ....) Please plan on parking next to the Moose in CENTRAL Homebuilt Camping West of the Forums, if you are flying in. Best to arrive early for space here. It would be great to have a Murphy Mob there ! :-) May 21 - Factory update - Good news !! The first amphib float kit will be shipping next week, and 2 more kits will go, together, to Washington, the following week, if shipping arrangements are completed. The plan is to ship another set every couple of weeks after that. They are doing the best they can in this economy, and appreciate everyone's patience ! If you prefer to arrange your own shipping, please let the factory know by email, now. April 9 - On Tuesday afternoon, March 29, 2011 we had another great Murphy Builders Annual Get-Together Party at Lakeland, FL ! Met up with fellow builders at the Sun 'n Fun Show on Opening Day, starting about 4 PM, at the Campground Corn Roast site, West of the hangars, on the edge of the campground. We brought the beer, wine, & munchies, and everyone bought the tasty corn there, to support the local chapter. Once again, Ralph & Sue donated a case of beer, and it was gratefully received by all. We also received 2 large Canadian flags from Bruce, who brought them all the way from Newfoundland and hung them on the end posts. Thanks - we will use them to mark all our future parties ! After several Rebels, Bruce is now building a Moose... The party was well attended, with at least 3 separate waves of a dozen or so folks arriving at different times - so some missed each other. Many stories and helpful tips were exchanged. Gary was there again, and brought his instructor. We were all interested in their adventures, and admire his spirit facing the challenge of learning to fly the Rebel with hand controls for rudder and brakes. The Maverick contingent helped reduce our inventory, as did the Renegade, Elite, and Moose groups. Rebel builders, of course, are well known for their capacity ! :-) Ken and friends tried to fly down from Canada again - had to land in Kentucky and rent a car to get here, because of the weather in between ! Everyone had a good time, happy that the rain held off until the next day. Anna & I packed up Wednesday, to avoid trying to do it in the rain - which we found, driving through a cold front to Ocala. Turned out well, as we missed the rain & tornado that touched down Thursday ! Fortunately, no serious injuries, but over 50 aircraft damaged .... Really didn't like leaving early - only had a chance to talk to a few people about ordering Murphy kits, and there was a lot of interest in the M-W aircraft engines too. (See under MORE on the home page ...) There was no factory booth at the show, so the Get Together provided a chance to meet up with other builders. Great to see you all again ! Hope to see you all there again next year !! .... On to OSHKOSH !! March 12 - Factory update - The Moose production run is finished. The last kit will be picked up this week. They are now catching up on some parts backorders with stock produced in this run. Most of the work is completed on the amphib float run, and they are being finished up, & packed, in the order that the payments were received. All of the crates are built and being filled as parts are done. The amphib float run is progressing slower than expected, but some should go within a few weeks. Sheet metal & extrusions are done, and machined parts are now being finished. Aug. 28 - Congratulations to Angus McKenzie for winning his class (RG RED) in the recent Great Canadian Air Rally at St. Thomas, ON, as part of the season for the Sport Air Racing League. Angus flew his O-320 Amphib Rebel.  July 27, 2010 - We had a great Murphy Builders Annual Get-Together Party at Oshkosh, Wl - met up on Tuesday July 27th, after 4 PM, at the Moose, in Homebuilt Camping, and worked our way through refreshments, munchies, and Bratwurst - All cooked up by Chef Brian ! Thanks again to Ted for providing the facilities and hosting, and Brian for cooking ! It was great seeing you all ! 
 July 4, 2010 - VIDEOS ! We are getting the videos from the info packs ONLINE ! The next one - the Rebel, is now up, and can be seen by choosing More from the main menu, then Watch Videos. You can see a bit of the Rebel Sport in the middle of this one. The others will follow as quickly as we can get them done, over the next few months. We are working on the Rebel Sport, and the Moose videos next.  July 1, 2010 - The Renegade line production rights are still for sale. We will continue to accept orders, and Murphy will continue to produce Renegade kits, as they have for the last 26 years. Should a sale ever go through, we are here to continue with marketing and sales for the new owner. To read more - click here. June 12, 2010 - * The Moose production run started this week ! *  May 30, 2010 - The FLOAT RUN started this week !!! All the deposits are in, and the orders have gone to the factory. Materials will be ordered this week - Anyone who wants Amphib Floats - you have only a COUPLE OF DAYS left to get in on this run ! Email us TODAY !  April 13, 2010 - We had a great annual Murphy Builders Get-Together Party at the Sun 'n Fun Fly-In in Lakeland, Florida. Met up with many of you builders and fans on Tuesday April 13th at the Campground Corn Roast site, starting at 4 pm. Oshkosh is next ! March 20, 2010 - NO price increases now = Spring Stimulus Sale ! - Murphy Aircraft advised us yesterday that they will be absorbing the rapidly rising costs of raw materials (approximately $3,500 on the Rebel series) and the huge changes in currency values, instead of increasing prices. They are giving customers a break in this tough economy, to make it easier for them to pursue their dreams by building one of our kits. NOW is the time to get your order in ! March 19, 2010 - VIDEOS ! We have added a new, customer-submitted video ! Pursue Your Dreams is now up, and can be seen by choosing More from the main menu, then Watch Videos.
